This ten-day safari from Nairobi takes in six of Kenya’s best-known wildlife areas: Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Samburu, the Aberdares, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha and the Masai Mara National Reserve.

Expect rhinos at Ol Pejeta, Samburu’s distinctive northern species, forest and waterhole viewing in the Aberdares, flamingos at Lake Nakuru, a boat ride on Lake Naivasha and three days of game drives in the Mara. It suits wildlife enthusiasts, families and adventure seekers.

Day by day

Day 1

Nairobi to Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Pick-up in Nairobi and drive to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, arriving in time for lunch. The afternoon game drive takes in the chimpanzee sanctuary and the rhino conservancy, followed by dinner and the night at a lodge or camp in Ol Pejeta.

Day 2

Ol Pejeta to Samburu National Reserve

After breakfast, drive north across the equator to Samburu National Reserve. An afternoon game drive is followed by the night in Samburu.

Day 3

Full Day in Samburu National Reserve

A full day of game drives with a picnic lunch, including time along the Ewaso Nyiro River. Overnight at your Samburu lodge or camp.

Day 4

Samburu to Aberdares National Park

Drive to the Aberdares for lunch at the Aberdares Country Club, then transfer to a tree lodge (The Ark or Treetops). The evening is spent watching wildlife at the waterhole.

Day 5

Aberdares to Lake Nakuru National Park

Drive to Lake Nakuru and have lunch at your lodge or camp. An afternoon game drive in the park follows.

Day 6

Lake Nakuru to Lake Naivasha

A morning game drive at Lake Nakuru before the drive to Lake Naivasha. The afternoon brings a boat ride on the lake and a walk on Crescent Island, with the night at a lodge or camp in Naivasha.

Day 7

Lake Naivasha to Masai Mara National Reserve

Drive to the Masai Mara, arriving for lunch. An afternoon game drive follows before the night at your lodge or camp.

Days 8 & 9

Full Days in Masai Mara

Two full days of morning and afternoon game drives, including the Mara River, where the wildebeest migration can be seen from July to October. A hot air balloon safari (extra cost) and a Maasai village visit are optional.

Day 10

Masai Mara to Nairobi

An early game drive and breakfast, then the drive back to Nairobi with lunch en route. Drop-off at your Nairobi hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
