A three-day safari from Nairobi to the Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya’s most famous game reserve. The Mara is home to the Big Five (lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo and leopard) and is renowned for the Great Wildebeest Migration.

With an afternoon game drive on arrival and a full day in the reserve, it is a good choice for travellers who want an authentic safari in a short time.

Day by day

Day 1

Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve

Morning pick-up in Nairobi and drive to the Masai Mara, stopping at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint. After lunch at your lodge or camp, head out on an afternoon game drive before dinner. Accommodation is in a luxury lodge, mid-range safari lodge or budget tented camp, depending on your preference.

Day 2

Full Day in Masai Mara

An early game drive is followed by breakfast and a full day in the reserve with a packed lunch, including the Mara River. The wildebeest migration can be seen from July to October, and a visit to a Maasai village is optional.

Day 3

Masai Mara to Nairobi

An early game drive before breakfast, then the drive back to Nairobi with lunch en route. Drop-off at your Nairobi hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in the afternoon.
